More than 40 eateries in Bulimba |
A pleasant thing to do is catch a ferry from the CBD to Bulimba, a suburb about four kilometres from the CBD that skirts the Brisbane River. You get to enjoy a ferry ride on the river, passing under the Story Bridge, before disembarking at the Bulimba ferry station. Bulimba is one of Brisbane's most sought-after areas to live in, but it also offers a nice experience for visitors with its fashion shops, cafes, restaurants and bars. The median price for a house in Bulimba as at October 2015 was $1,085,000, due to Bulimba's close proximity to both the city and the river and ferries, and its larger heritage-style homes and village lifestyle. At this time, there were more than 40 eateries in Bulimba, the vast majority of them in Oxford Street, the village's main thoroughfare. Bulima also has its annual festival, which this year runs from Monday, November 9 until Sunday 15. The 2015 event will feature lunch on the lawn in Memorial Park - listening to some of Brisbane’s most popular bands; street food, market stalls, gourmet food and wine tastings; and activities for kids.
